This dry stainless steel aged (100%) Virginia Merlot presents with a lush deep red color and crisp light taste that makes it perfect for drinking with or without paired foods. It is not meant to be aged, but to be enjoyed on a whim during the first 18 months or so after production.
Our decision to continue making two "no sulfite" wines in 2020 arose from a 2017 experimental no-sulfite wine that was our winery's contribution to the work of the Virginia Winemakers Research Exchange (WRE) where winemakers test out different ideas and share the data and results. The 2017 no sulfite Merlot was so well-received by our guests that we decided to do it again in 2019 and to add an estate no sulfite Cabernet Franc to boot.
