A Toast to Tradition: The Stirrup Cup Release
Join us for a timeless Virginia tradition as the Piedmont Fox Hounds, America’s oldest hunt, meet at Slater Run Vineyards. Guests will gather to greet the horses and hounds and take part in the ceremonial send-off with a stirrup cup, a parting drink, traditionally port, offered to mounted riders before they depart on the hunt.
In celebration of this seasonal occasion, we will debut our newest release, a port-style wine named Stirrup Cup. Guests are invited to enjoy a tasting of the new release, savor country ham biscuits, and meet the talented artist behind the label, Lydia Marie Elizabeth. La Selva Crepes & Coffee will also be on site to provide all your coffee and breakfast favorites.
Gates will open at 9am and the hunt departs by 10am. Following the Stirrup Cup, join us for a Meet the Artist reception in the Tasting Room.
This is a complimentary event open to all winery patrons; however, advanced tickets are required. In the event of rain and the hunt does not meet, the reception will begin in the Tasting Room at 10am.
